The Starting Point
Welcome to Taiwan Designers' Week 2007! This is an event started spontaneously by a group of designers in Taiwan. The merging of traditional and contemporary, western and eastern cultures has nourished a design community with great diversity. Now it is the time to build a platform for exchanging ideas and getting connected to each other.
"Let's Talk" is the theme for 2007. We wish to inspire dialogues between not just designers but the entire creative community, both local and global. We hope you have a great time looking around. In the exhibitions you will see works inspired by different facets of life and culture: the handcrafts and materials from the old world are given modern meanings, the chaos of the local culture becomes a clue for re-exploring the texture of living, and the city charms people with humor and passions.
